September of 2011 brought a facelift to our Sunday morning programming. We start at 9:15 with a high-energy kick-off to our Lord’s Day celebration in the Worship Center. Our opening exercises include worship through music and typically an object lesson or introduction to the day’s biblical point. 4 year olds through 6th graders are then broken out into age groups and rotate through various learning centers, including a ‘home room’, a snack center, an activity center, a bible story center, and a craft center. The activities in each center are specifically geared toward the day’s biblical point. All of the kids are brought back together at 11:05 for our Worship Celebration, which is modeled after the adult worship services, including singing, communion for those who have accepted Christ and been obedient in Christian baptism, collection of offering, a skit or puppet presentation, teaching from the bible, and usually a fun game or activity to once again reinforce the day’s biblical point.
Transition times in the center rotations align fairly well with our different service times. So, if parents attend only one service and do not participate in elective classes, kids can easily transition into or out of the rotations in between services. We do often hear kids asking their parents to allow them to attend the full program. So, we encourage parents to choose an elective class or area of service so that their children can enjoy the benefits of the entire program.
Since the Fall of 2011, all offering monies collected in the Children’s Worship Celebration go directly to Life of Hope Ministries in sponsorship of a specific child.
